The Breeze Quilt Pattern is available in my brand new shop today! I am so excited to finally share this with you!
It is available in both PDF and Paper versions!
Breeze is extremely versatile and friendly for solids, prints, or a scrappy approach. There are so many ways to get creative and I can’t wait to show all of the ways my testers did just that in a follow-up post!
The pattern features baby and throw sizes. I would call this a confident beginner pattern due to the HST construction, but it is also a great learning quilt if you haven’t worked that much with the 8-at-a-time Half Square Triangle method!
Fabrics
For this cover quilt, I used Kona Solids by Robert Kaufman in Green Tea, Seafoam, and my absolute favorite white, Snow (seriously, I buy it by the bolt!). The backing is Kauai in Hawaii from Hawthorne Supply Co.’s Aloha Collection.
Inspiration
This pattern started with a block found in an encyclopedia of non-copyrighted quilt blocks. I was drawn to the movement created with the half-square triangles. I input the block into EQ8 and started playing. The final result created the impression of a breeze, especially when I placed the blocks on point.
Quilting
I cannot take credit for the wonderful long arm quilting! Many, many thanks to Katie at Blue Door Quilting for all of the beautiful work she did on my launch quilts!
This quilting design is called Soho.
Meaning
This quilt is especially meaningful to me not only because it is the first pattern I have tried my hand at writing, but also because I have been working on this through a rather turbulent and transitional time in my life. The movement of the breeze through the quilt has been a reflection of the movement of my life and its completion and launch comes at a time when a lot of things have either fallen into place or are headed that way. And I am forever grateful to the entire quilting community for their love and support in this endeavor!
I hope you enjoy the Breeze quilt as much as I do! I can’t wait to see how you make this pattern yours! Please tag me on social media @gaelicbeautyquilts. And use the hashtags #breezequilt #gaelicbeautypatterns so we can all enjoy!
